Interview with Dr. Francesca Torriani
FT: A lot of physicians also work in the homeopathic field.
These are complementary not adversarial, also chiropractors,
and physical therapists. Other physical medicines are
compensated and are covered adequately, by the insurance.
So there is coverage for both western medicine and the
non-western medicines; you could have acupuncture, you
could have chiropractic care, physical therapy, and you
can request it as a physician or as a patient, and it is
covered.
DK: Very nice, and I picked up somewhere along the way that
in Switzerland they use more herbal treatments. Is that true
or is that more historical?
FT: I think that in all Europe, homeopathic medicine is
also a medicine, and so it’s considered as an alternative
or complement to western medicine.
DK: And is that provided by a medical doctor or by a
homeopathic doctor?
FT: It would be by a homeopathic doctor, and a homeopathic
doctor may also be a medical doctor.
DK: Interesting.
FT: They could specialize in homeopathic medicine.
DK: Very interesting. Would you mind if I ask you some
questions about your own experiences that you have been
through.
FT: Sure.
DK: So before I met you, can you describe the problems
you were having?
