Tim Noakes wrote in his book ‘The Lore of Running’ that in addition to weekly rest, a runner should take a month or so each year for their long term injuries to rest.
After a week of rest I would have to say I recomend the same for chiropractors. Repetitive work, such as what chiropractors do, can cause small injuries to the chiropractors joints.
Constant pressure on the chiropractors joints may prevent these small injuries from healing. After 15 years as a chiropractor, I have a few of these chiropractic injuries.
After 10 days off, I feel all of them are well healed and I am ready to heal San Diego!
