Some reasearchers found out something amazing. That diabetes apears to be a very curable disease, at least in rats. This means that it is probably curable in humans. I have spoken to many chiropractors who claimed they fixed diabetes in people. This is against popular research, and is actually illegal for a chiropractor to claim.
This new research may give a clue as to what is happening.
Here is the article about the research.
In summary they found out that in someone with diabetes the pain nerves leaving the pancreas carry pain signals to the brain. They think that these nerves start inflamation in the pancreus, and that pancreus stops making insulin.
They found that by simply injecting these nerves with chili pepper, they could get the nerves to stop carrying the pain signals. This stopped the inflamation, and in rats at least the pancreaus started making insulin again, practically imediately.
I think that the drug companies want us all to think that all or most diseases are genetic. If you think your disease is genetic, then you will not try to do anything about it and instead just take drugs. Ideas like that sell a lot of drugs.
The questions I did not see asked in the research, but I am sure will come up, will be Why was the pancreus sending pain signals in the first place? Was it the way the person was eating? Was it the nerves going to the pancreaus being irritated? Was the pain nerve itself being irritated? If it was one of the last two, could that be a pinched nerve problem?
I don’t know where this will lead, but I will tell you one thing. I predict in the next ten years, diabetes treatment will probably be vastly different than it is now, and I bet it will be tons more effective. Until then take care of your self!
I believe too that chiropractic care will hail Diabetes too, even if it is type 1 i’m a strong believer in that. My daughter was out of line at the pancreas, and i believe that’s how she devoloped type 1 Diabetes. She has been going to the chiropractor for 3 weeks now and her suger levels have dropped by more than a 100points and she was just diagnosed on July 25,2007.
I have been a chiropractor and chiropractic educator for many years. I have seen no evidence in the 30 plus years I have been in the profession, to suggest that chiropractic treatments can treat or cure any disease……however….there are instances where conditions improve after chiropractic care and problems seem to be eliminated. I know of no specific instances where diabetes is cured by chiropractic treatment alone, but have see some improve greatly after both chiropractic treatment and dietary changes. Which one of those created the improvement? Who cares? We combine natural methods to the body and if the body can respond, many positive changes take place in most patients.
Hello all,
I am with New Mexico State University and I am actually doing a research project on the affects of chiropractic treatment on diabetes. (this is not a research project on curing diabetes, but helping those with diabetes). We have a survey that we are conducting. If anyone happens to be interested in participating or filling out this survey your help would be greatly appreciate. Please contact me and I will send you the survey if you’d like to take it.
Thank you for your time.
