This is the tip that goes against the patient. As you can
see it is made of aluminum, which is a very light. The
ends of the tip that touch the patient are a type of
material that is soft and comfortable against
the skin.
Here you can see the whole set up. There is the head
that fits in the doctors hand. The black box where all
the electronic magic is done. Then there is the computer
which does the thinking, and also displays the information
for the doctor and patient.
This machine can move the bone lightning fast. In fact it is
so fast that the human eye can not follow its motion. This
moves the bone before the muscles have a chance to contract
to resist.
The force can be set for anywhere between 5 pounds and 35 pounds
of force. I have tested the thing extensively on
myself, and found 5 pounds feels like a kitten
tapping my neck with her paw, and 35 pounds is
WOW!, That really moved things! The robot by
the way is FDA approved.
Here is a photo of the screen. I have some sample data up on
the screen for an example. The left side of the screen is
where you keep track of which vertebrae you are on. The right
side of the screen is where you control the instruments
force, speed, and number of pulses.
